Ever notice how most actual constitutional lawyers lean left? More evidence that the teabaggers aren’t nearly as knowledgeable on the Constitution as they think they are.

Ummm no. Well if you get the Tea Party perspective be your guide I suppose so. But on the far more legitimate measure over decades and many issues that revolve around various amendments its a pretty close split. But really the Tea Party is far too new a phenomenon to go by, and the 14th too narrow.

I wasn’t talking about the right in general. I disagree with but understand constructionist views. I just find the teabaggers’ selective constructionism idiotic to the nth degree.

Pfft what do a bunch of lawyers know about the law? We should be listening to people like Palin, Bachmann, and Rick Perry. They have “common sense.” Seriously though, this isn’t a shock. The ABA knows how boneheaded a move this would be.

Note that the well-connected nutburger blames evolution for the decline of child-beating, as well as for a litany of other alleged ills. He claims, quite falsely, that none of the 50 top universities in this country teach history. He might well be the craziest person ever to have major influence over elected leaders in this country. He is the tea party’s Rasputin.

As an aside, I’d like to know why the ABA held it’s convention outside the US.

Lots of cities here could have used the support.

I agree with you.

I am not sure. Toronto is a large hub for many US companies. My first guess was financial reasons but I can’t possibly see how having the conference in Canada could be cheaper than staying in the US.
